Over the summer, a couple of my plurk buds were experimenting with making 5 Minute Chocolate I tried it with the kids and made a couple of substitutions which I will share here...
We decided our mugs were too small and used a deep bowl instead. Make sure it's microwave safe -
it's also a good idea to put it in to soak fairly sharpish after knocking the cake out.
In your bowl mix:
3 Tablespoons of Self Raising Flour
1 Tablespoon of Baking Soda
4 Tablespoons of Sugar (the kids preferred Golden Granulated)
2 Tablespoons of Cocoa Powder
Optional, add:
1 Teaspoon of Cinnamon and/or 1 Teaspoon of Ground Ginger
Add:
1 Egg or 1 Mashed Banana
Pour in:
3 Tablespoons of Milk (Skimmed works)
2 Tablespoons of Oil or 1 Tablespoon of Oil and 1 Tablespoon of Apple Sauce
Mix well.
Optional (mix well if doing), add:
3 Tablespoons of Choc Chips
1/2 Teaspoon of Vanilla Extract
Put the bowl into your microwave on high.
Our microwave is 800 watt and we put it in for 3.5 minutes. It rises quite alarmingly, but it's all good!
Wait for it to cool down slightly, then tip it out onto a plate.

My youngest son really took to making chocolate cake this way over the holidays. There were a few
days when we were given chocolate cake for breakfast!
