Another Birthday's Been And Gawn
This was the delightful breakfast I was presented with for my birthday yesterday. A pumpkin muffin (okay, so it doesn't look like a muffin, but it was a first attempt - they taste blooming marvellous though!) and a toasted Marmite and cheese sarnie.
It was, I have to admit, the weirdest toastie I have had since J made me Welsh Rarebit when she was wee. As it was only partially toasted, the half a bottle of Worcester sauce she put on it was not only soaked into the bread toast, but also in a puddle that filled the plate.
Yesterday's offering had, as H admitted, gone a little soggy as she forgot to toast one side (sure can tell they are sisters!) and there wasn't any cheese so she used a Dairylea cheese slice. I did eat it all (I promise!), but it took some time as I got mugged to open presents.
I got a From Me To You bears each from the girls, each with a small box of Lindt choc balls with it (there were four in each box, perfect when we played Bomberman later), a box of vodka chocs (I love these things but can't stand vodka!) which everyone helped munch as we watched Love, Actually and a sewing machine. I've been saying for ages that I should save up for one and make stuff and KT managed to get me a nice basic one to play with.
I got to spend much of the day on the phone to family and felt much happier than I had the night before, though, having H sing to me at 00.35 was great.

I am full of good intentions when it comes to crafts and the such. I have only ever used a sewing machine twice in my life before - once at school, and once making a rag doll at an art group I went to at the kids' old primary school. I have made loads of fancy dress outfits for the kids, but they are all either entirely hand sewn or things bought from charity shops and adapted. I haven't any fabric or even threads to play with yet, but I plan to get a little of each next week and see what I can bodge up.
