The Price ... Sucks
KT's dad drove the van to 'London' to get the brake cable fixed. The people who adapted the van quite happily removed it and the secondary cable and refitted new 'special' ones (that's what they called them when asked, special cables).
Each of these cables cost £20, a bargain you would think. No. The entire bill came to £300 ... £40 plus 2.5 hours of work on it. It's amazing how every single time we go to have work done of the van, they come out with the bill with this many of hours and exactly half an hour extra on it. And anyway, 2.5 hours to refit two cables? As far as we can see, they both come out of the bottom of his joystick and clip onto a block to the brakes - so at the very least, it means feeding two cables through the joystick and clipping them at both ends.
Gah, these people think that all disabled people have unlimited funds or that every customer gets monetary help or that Motability will pay for the repairs, so the bills are always outrageous. I have news for those Buckos - some of us have to scrimp to get the cash together - phooey.
